GLOBE Environmental Forum in Sultanate of Oman
The General Education Directorate of Al Dhahirah Governorate (Oman) has implemented the GLOBE Environmental Forum in the IBRI School on 5 October 2023 with the participation of a number of schools in Al Dhahirah Governorate that joined The GLOBE Program. The forum included a virtual meeting with the GLOBE Regional Coordinator for the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region, as well as a review of the schools’ achievements. The audience also enjoyed the accompanying exhibition, which contained student research and participation from various government sectors interested in the environment. Students were also trained on The GLOBE Program's environmental protocols.
The GLOBE Environmental Program Forum is a real opportunity for students from Al-Dhahirah Governorate to present their work and research in a creative way, and to meet employees from government departments in Al-Dhahirah Governorate, such as the Environment Department, Ibri Municipality, and the General Directorate of Agriculture, which helps students acquire various skills.
As a supervisor of The GLOBE Program, the forum helped communicate with various government agencies to discuss cooperation to develop the program. It is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce the Director General of the Directorate of Education the importance the importance of GLOBE.
