Students from Oman's Ibri Basic Education School Celebrate Earth Day and GLOBE's Birthday by Getting Outdoors

Every year, the world celebrates Earth Day, which falls on 22 April. On that day, various events and programs are held with the aim of educating society and individuals about the importance of planet Earth and the need to preserve it.

For this reason, The GLOBE Program is one of the most important programs that guides students in schools to know the importance of planet Earth. The Program Supervisor, Sheikha Al-Sawafi (Ibri Basic Education School, Oman), carried out an exploratory trip to the area surrounding the school for the purpose of connecting the students with the environment and learning about the characteristics of the soil, vegetation, and rock formations. This encourages the students to ask questions, try to find solutions, and deduce theories about the eras and circumstances that contributed to their formation.
