Community Comments Welcome for NASA Competition to Host GIO

Community Comments Welcome for NASA Competition for Hosting of The GLOBE Implementation Office: Due Date - June 9

The Earth Science Division of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate will solicit proposals for an organization or a team of multiple organizations to host the GLOBE Implementation Office (GIO) and collaborate with NASA in the implementation of GLOBE, with the objective of strengthening the programmatic support for GLOBE and enhancing the value of GLOBE to its worldwide community of students, educators, scientists, citizen scientists, and partners.

The GLOBE Implementation Office (GIO) is currently hosted by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR). UCAR’s cooperative agreement to host the GIO at UCAR ends in May 2024 and this necessitates a competitive proposal process that will be open to UCAR, to retain the program, and any other organization(s) that may want to propose hosting of the GIO beyond 1 May 2024.

The description of the specific proposal opportunity is contained in the document 'A.40 The GLOBE Implementation Office'. The document 'A.1 Earth Science Research Program Overview' describes research activities within the NASA science division that is managing the specific proposal opportunity on this page and may impose requirements upon proposals submitted to this program element. The document 'Summary of Solicitation' describes the common requirements for all ROSES-2023 proposal opportunities. The document 'Table 1' contains the proposal checklist from the Summary of Solicitation. The documents 'Table 2' and 'Table 3' contain the list of all proposal opportunities and their due dates, sorted by (full or Step-2) proposal due date or appendix number, respectively. All of these documents are kept up to date and incorporate amendments, clarifications, and corrections in a clearly identifiable manner.

ROSES-2023 Amendment 25 has released a DRAFT of A.40 The GLOBE Implementation Office (GIO) for community comment.

Questions and comments on the DRAFT A.40 GIO are due by June 9, 2023 via email to Amy P. Chen at amy.p.chen@nasa.gov  (please use subject line: DRAFT A.40 Questions and Comments) and will be used to inform the final text and a Q&A document for this program element.
