Application for LMW Grant Now Open (Philippines)

CALL FOR LOCAL MOSQUITO WORKSHOP (LMW) GRANT

Greetings from G.L.O.B.E. Philippines.

In anticipation of the Dengue and Malaria seasons during the months of May to November, G.L.O.B.E. Philippines is now accepting application for LMW Grants.

Do your part as a certified GLOBE teacher in mitigating and preventing the spread of Mosquito borne diseases, and possibly, even save lives. And you can do this while teaching your Science class, or conducting community service.

Take your students out of the classroom and into the field. Make science learning both fun and meaningful.

Don’t just learn science... do science.

WHAT IS IN STORE FOR YOU

As a LMW trainer, GLOBE Philippines will provide you:

Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000) Honoraria, for every mosquito class or community service conducted;
Sixteen (16) Mosquito Kits, containing the following:
- Eight (8) Macro Lenses/ Miniature Microscope
- 16 Mosquito Kits, each containing the following items:
  - 1 Pair Surgical Gloves
  - 1 Sampling Container
  - 1 Syringe (Small)
  - 1 Wash Bottle
  - 1 Dropper
  - 1 Kit Bag
  - 1 Ltr. Alcohol (per group)
  - 1 Large Tissue Roll (per Group)

WHAT TO DO:

Conduct Local Mosquito Workshop in your class/ community. Each LMW session must have at least sixteen (16) participants, but not more than twenty-five (25).
Each participant must be able to upload five (5) unique data in the GLOBE Website or thru the GLOBE Observer App.
Note: The LMW need not be held during class hours, or as part of a science class. It can be held as part of a community service, or as an extra-curricular activity.
