The 2025 Autumn European Phenology Campaign has come to a successful close, bringing together teachers, students, and GLOBE teams across the region. This year, 230 schools from 21 countries registered for the campaign, involving 4,100 students who observed trees, uploaded data, and shared creative projects.
Throughout the autumn season, participants explored seasonal change and learned how careful observation helps us understand our environment. Their curiosity, data, and creativity made this autumn campaign once again a strong example of how science connects young people across borders.
The participating countries are displayed in the word cloud below.
The campaign was officially opened in September with the webinar Discover the 2025 Autumn Tree Campaign. Participants learned about campaign activities and resources, as well as from videos and insights shared by experienced educators from Croatia, Czechia, and Slovakia.
Two additional webinars during the season were organised by GLOBE Ireland as part of the Climate Resilience – Temperature and Trees campaign, and were kindly opened to the international GLOBE community: Expert Webinar on Trees and Climate Resilience: Temperature and Trees – International Student Webinar.
Teachers and students continued to share ideas, photos, and activities throughout the season. The Padlet remained a rich source of inspiration, and the Discussion Forum was active with many posts and observations from classrooms across the region.
On top of that, 2400 green-down observations were entered into the GOBE database.
