The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is sponsoring a photography contest, “Inspired by Earth,” to celebrate Earth Science Week 2018 (14-20 October). Each year, AGI organizes this national and international event to help the public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth sciences and to encourage stewardship of the Earth. The “Trees Around the GLOBE” Student Research Campaign Launches in Conjunction with the NASA ICESat-2 Satellite on 15 September!
In conjunction with the launch of NASA’s ICESat-2 (Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite), GLOBE is launching a new “Trees Around the GLOBE” student research campaign – and is now calling on all GLOBE students and teachers to start taking tree height measurements on the day of the launch: 15 September.  >>

Winner Selected in Drawing for Free Registration to 2019 Annual Meeting
A winner, chosen in random drawing, has been selected to receive free registration to the 2019 Annual Meeting in Detroit, Michigan, USA: Reiko Nezu, a GLOBE teacher at Kanagawa Prefectural Ikuta High School in Kawasaki, Japan. Nezu was selected from among the group of people who completed the GLOBE Learning Expedition survey.  >>
