April Tech Update
In the GLOBE Technology area, our focus has been on getting everything ready for the 8 April Eclipse event. We hope you will join in observing clouds with The GLOBE Program's app, GLOBE Observer on that day even if you do not live within an area experiencing the eclipse. However, if you do live in an area which will experience the eclipse (even partial) you will now see the Eclipse tool available to practice and start making observations.
We do hope you are enjoying the new Awards and Recognition addition to GLOBE Observer (including emails to recognize when you’ve accomplished major milestones). As a reminder, you can always opt-out of receiving emails in the app; just look under your account to turn this feature off. We will be looking to add more to this over time. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions and share with us your longest streak.
Soon we will release a new learning activities tool which will allow users to upload learning activities to the website to share with the GLOBE community. This will be in addition to providing improved access to all of GLOBE’s existing learning activities. We hope you will add your favorite learning activities to the database.
Finally, trainers are now able to apply to maintain their active trainer status from within the trainers’ community, so if you are a trainer or mentor trainer coming up for renewing your status, please take a look at the new certification tool.
