How Are Clouds Observations Matched to Satellite Data? Read this NASA GLOBE Clouds Team Blog and Find Out!
The NASA GLOBE Clouds team at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, USA, recently presented a webinar discussing how cloud observations collected by citizen scientists are matched to satellite data. In this blog, posted by Marile Colon Robles, you can watch the webinar recording – and learn how important your observations are!
The webinar also focuses on the importance and quality of the observations, ways that the data can be used by scientists, and current work being done by the team at NASA Langley Research Center. The webinar also highlights newly processed data from the temperature and cloud observations reported for the Great North American Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017.

And don’t forget to participate in the NASA GLOBE Clouds: Spring Cloud Observations Data Challenge. Participants are invited to enter up to 10 cloud observations per day from 15 March through 15 April 2018 using the GLOBE Program’s data entry options or using GLOBE Observer app. GLOBE and GLOBE Observer participants with the most observations will be congratulated by a NASA scientist with a video posted on the NASA GLOBE Clouds website.
How to Participate in the Challenge
Follow the steps on the GLOBE Clouds: How to participate website to learn more about submitting your cloud observations. Only those who enter their cloud observations using the GLOBE Online Data Entry website, GLOBE Data Entry app, or the GLOBE Observer app will be considered.
Below are some resources and helpful links to help you make your observations.
