Students in Ireland and USA Share Green-Down Data and Culture in Virtual Meeting

On November 14, third grade students from Hampstead Central School (New Hampshire, USA) met virtually with primary students from Timoleague National School (Ireland) to share the results of their GLOBE green-down research. Both schools had been collecting GLOBE green-down data as part of the European and North American GLOBE Phenology Campaigns.

Student representatives shared about their school, their culture, and the trees that they monitored. There was some time for questions, with a lot of curiosity about what sports they played, what they ate for lunch, and what the temperature was (that took some converting!). After the virtual meeting, the schools are continuing their collaboration by sharing pictures, videos, and data through a Padlet. Congratulations to both schools for their hard work in collecting data this fall and thank you to educators Sarah Wisecarver (Hampstead) and Susannah Keohane (Timoleague) for their support!

This virtual meet-up was organized by the Assistant GLOBE Country Coordinators of Ireland (Sabrina Moore) and the United States (Haley Wicklein).
